Experience/Licenses
Welcome! My name is Dr. Katherine De Vito and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New Jersey. Working with children, adolescents, and young adults is my passion. In addition to being the owner of Healing Hope Counseling, LLC providing therapy, I am also a Certified School Social Worker working as a school social worker. I have 17 years experience working at the elementary, middle, and high school levels providing individual and group counseling with both general and special education students, crisis intervention, conflict mediation, case management for special education students. I am also a Field Instructor to MSW interns. I have also worked in the nonprofit sector providing individual and group counseling in schools and private counseling with adults, children, and their families.
Education
I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a double major in both Psychology and Journalism and Mass Communications from Rutgers University. I then completed my Masters of Science in Social Work (MSSW) at Columbia University School of Social Work. Most recently, I earned my Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) from Rutgers University School of Social Work. See my research and publications section of this website to check out my publications. Approach/Practice Modalities
My goal is to provide a safe space and an outlet to talk about thoughts, feelings, and emotions. In working with my clients, my goal is to establish a connection, trusting therapeutic relationship, and a safe environment that can encourage emotional growth. Each client is unique, so treatment will be tailored to each individual and varying needs. Therefore, my approach is eclectic, incorporating various therapeutic modalities including using cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, psychodynamic, and solution-focused therapy. I use a strengths-based approach to help empower my clients to cope with life's challenges and stressors to improve their lives. With the therapeutic relationship we build together, I look forward to helping you or your child/adolescent acquire skills and strategies to overcome any roadblocks that might be standing in the way of happiness and success.

Out of Network
* While I do not participate in any insurance plans, a bill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance company for out of network benefits.
If filing a claim out of network, please check with your provider to determine what may be covered by asking the following questions:
* Do I have outpatient mental health insurance benefits?
* Does my policy offer out-of-network benefits? If so, inquire about your deductibles or coinsurance.
* What is my deductible? Has it been met?
* How many sessions does my health insurance cover per year?
* Do I need approval from my primary care physician?
** At this time all sessions will be Teletherapy Psychotherapy Sessions via Simple Practice (HIPAA compliant)
